About John Elliott
Versatility and kindness are foundational to how I approach both life and work. I strive to serve with dedication and lead by example—bringing empathy, adaptability, and purpose to every engagement and relationship.
My background blends strategic communications, instructional design, and program leadership. I hold a B.S. in Business from Virginia Tech and have recently focused on AI-powered learning and course development, alongside Learning & Development program management.
With a multidisciplinary design skill set—including AI-integrated design tools, e-learning authoring, multimedia production, and instructional design—I take a holistic approach to crafting innovative, accessible, and effective learning solutions. This is complemented by extensive experience in project and program management, allowing me to align creative vision with operational excellence.
Prior to my work as an independent AI and Learning Design freelance consultant, I enjoyed eight years at Anthem / Beacon Health Options, where I led large-scale training initiatives for provider and partner onboarding, annual renewals, and teletherapy. My role also involved designing technology-driven solutions that streamlined workflows and enhanced learning outcomes. I also continued my passion to teach and instruct, delivering over 1000 unique virtual training engagements utilizing ZOOM, Webex, and Citrix Go-To-Webinar.
Earlier in my career, I managed software development projects using both an ADDIE process and an Agile Scrum methodology. I directed Business Systems Analysis teams, and developed and delivered live training programs within the financial services sector—building a strong foundation in technical communications and cross-functional leadership.
